Back to School

Hello Storitopia Friends! Many kids are back in the classroom this month (can I get a yee-haw?!). I’ve been spending a lot of time working on Storitopia this week and I’ve got some exciting things to share. I’m updating our website and will be adding the weekly reviews there as well I’m launching our Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages I’ll have an update on the App by the end of the month.

If you’ve got podcast-loving friends and want to share Storitopia with them, please feel free to share this link and have them join our weekly newsletter. If you have a podcast that you love and would like me to share, send me an email at merideth@storitopia.com and I’ll put it on the site.

What If World

WhatIfWorld+-+Main+-+Podcast+Artwork

If you want your kids to stretch their imaginations this fall, this podcast is for you! The What If World podcast is independently produced and creates stories prompted from kid-submitted questions. One of my favorites is, “What if Donuts Came to Life?” The podcast creators, Eric and Karen Marshall O’Keefe take a few listener-submitted questions and create a unique podcast prompted from each question. I love the original music and how silly the stories can get. This podcast is ideal for kids ages 3-8, but really all ages will enjoy it!

Lucy Wow

I recently discovered GoKidGo, the company that created Lucy Wow, and other awesome kids' podcasts (Bobby Wonder and R.L. Stine’s Story Club!). I have only listened to a few episodes, but I think it’s going to be a bing-worthy show. Lucy is an 11-year-old engineer with a sidekick, Kapow, a mechanical pygmy goat, who needs some sort of rescuing in each episode and occasionally plays music from his bum. The episodes are pretty short, usually about 15 minutes, but really fun. The podcast website posts a link to learning resources which include discussion questions and activities, helping parents engage with kids in conversation after the shows. It looks like GoKidGo is working on a few new podcasts – so stay tuned for new content and reviews. This podcast is ideal for kids ages 5-12.
